John Eathorne Artist.
I work in digital and traditional mediums including gouache, watercolor, oil, acrylic and pastel. I enjoy all facets of art from the surreal, landscape, wildlife, abstract and comical portraitures. I love it all.
Evolution, the spirit and the natural world are ongoing topics that I often portray through surreal imagery.
Overtime I have became fascinated by Australian native wildlife, and so I have made many studies of kangaroos, dingoes, sea creatures and birdlife.
I was born in New Zealand surrounded by vast powerful landscapes. Both my parents were accomplished artists who handed the gift of art appreciation on to me from a very young age. I always had a pencil or paintbrush in my hand.
Australia is now my home. Initially living in the Central Highlands of Victoria where I had the opportunity to spend three years doing a Visual Arts Degree in sculpture, at Ballarat University.
I've completed a number of exhibitions showcasing my work in local and surrounding cafes and galleries.
I am now living in Fremantle, Western Australia, enjoying and finding new inspiration in the costal scapes.
One of the main pleasures for painting is to share with others how I see things.
