Shoebox Studio Ceramics

I’m Jane, the ceramic artist behind Shoebox Studio Ceramics, based in Secret Harbour, Western Australia. My work spans both functional pottery for everyday use and more whimsical, story-driven pieces inspired by fantasy and folklore.
Alongside mugs, tableware, and homewares designed to be used and enjoyed daily, I also create sculptural pieces — most recognisably my dragon-adorned vessels and collectible “Dragonlings.” These pieces bring a sense of magic into the home, each one individually sculpted with its own quiet personality.
I primarily work by hand, combining traditional ceramic techniques with detailed surface work to create pieces that feel both grounded and imaginative. I’m always exploring the balance between function and storytelling — where an object can be both useful and a small piece of wonder.
Through my work, I hope to invite people to slow down, connect with handmade objects, and bring a little bit of the whimsical into everyday life.
