My passion is painting abstract and mixed media works which I have exhibited in various Perth exhibitions.
My paintings aim to draw the viewer in to observe the marks and layers within the larger structure of the work.
I paint using a process whereby I first play with the surface design then start to scrape back, add more layers, scratch the surfaces, apply collage and pencil and soft media marks until I feel the painting is completed. Each time I begin a work I do not know what the final image will be- and this makes it interesting and challenging as I attempt to create a cohesive structure. When I am happy I have taken it as far as I can it is then ready for a viewer to make their own reading of the painting.
