Sarah Pownall Ceramics
Hello and welcome! Here you'll find thoughtfully designed pieces for living, inspired by the chaos of our family life. I hope you'll find something that you'll cherish or feel proud to gift, that find a permanent place in your home for years to come.
I believe in making functional, authentic pieces that encourage connection. My work is inspired by the quiet beauty in mundane moments and the repetitive ephemerality of domestic tasks. It's an ode to my Nan, and a practice that sustains me as I grow my own young family.
Each piece is made by hand in my garden studio in sunny Perth, Western Australia. I use locally-made stoneware clay for durability, and fire my work in a small electric kiln powered almost entirely by the sun.
Every scrap of clay is soaked down and reused. I also take care to source packaging materials that are reused, recycled, recyclable, sustainably sourced or biodegradable.
