Noodles Crochet
I was taught to crochet by my Grandmother when I was in my late teens. She taught me the basic stitches and how to turn them into a pot holder or trivet. I only picked up crochet occasionally throughout my 20's and didn't take it any further until I had my first child. Then I taught myself how to go from flat crochet to 3D amigurumi crochet because I wanted to make a Hoot Owl for my niece and pretend food for my sons toy kitchen. Long story short I basically haven't stopped since. I love seeking out the next quirky pattern to make and have started to design my own patterns.
I am formally educated with a MSc in Environmental Management and have a love for upcycling. This shines through in my sustainable range of crochet items which can be identified by the little logo on the photo. My sustainable range is crafted from yarns that have been purchased at op shops or from craft destash pages on Facebook. All my stuffed toys are filled with stuffing made in Australia from recycled water bottles. This avoids the need for new raw materials. The sustainable range also includes my range of baskets made from t-shirt yarn. T-shirt yarn is made from fabric remnants (edges and off cuts) that would usually go to landfill. Turning remnants into chunky yarn is an effective way to give the product a second life.
I look forward to showing you my latest creations and seeing you at PMM!
